AUDITION PREP COURSE INFORMATION

We offer an Audition Preparation Course for any dancers (grades 4-12) wanting to get extra help before the audition. Students will learn a waltz and cha cha routines and will also learn technique that will help them look their very best! It is also a great place to potentially meet a partner! Private Lessons

We have many coaches who would love to help you prepare for your audition. If you would like extra help, feel free to contact these coaches to set up a private lesson. Each coach is an independent contractor and therefore sets their own price and schedule. Listed below is their contact information for more details. NOTE: Private lessons are not required for you to audition, but they are a good way to clean up your routines and technique.

Team Information and Policies

In order to run a high quality program that produces great dancers and successful teams, we hold our dancers to a high standard. Our teams cannot succeed unless all dancers are pushing themselves to improve, therefore each dancer's commitment to the team includes their commitment to their own technical and competitive development, as well as to the Ohana spirit with which we want to run this program. Please review the information below to clarify team commitment, expectations, policies, etc. If there is anything you do not understand about the team expectations, please feel free to reach out to Ryan at 801-857-7371 for clarification.

Junior or Youth Competing(Required)

Dancers who make one of our Junior or Youth "A" Teams will be expected to compete in at least one Open category (and Syllabus in the other) and take private lessons weekly. If you make an "A" Team, you will be expected to do so.

Pre-Teen Competing(Required)

Dancers who make one of our Pre-Teen Teams or one of our "B" Teams will be expected to compete in at least one, but preferably two Syllabus categories and are highly encouraged to take private lessons weekly. If you are Pre-Teen age, or you make a "B" Team, you will be expected to do so.

Mandatory Parent Meeting(Required)

There will be a MANDATORY GENERAL PARENT MEETING for all NEW PARENTS Friday, May 19th at 6:30 PM at Island Style Dance Studio. Please mark this date in your calendar. At least one parent per dancer must attend. Dancers are welcome to attend with their parents but it is not mandatory. This meeting is for NEW PARENTS ONLY.

ISD Studio Policies(Required)

There will be MANDATORY TEAM PARENT MEETINGS for each team that will be scheduled by your team coach to review team goals, expectations, and plans for the coming year. At least one parent per dancer must attend. Dancers are welcome to attend with their parents but it is not mandatory.
